Okay, I admit, this is a bizarre pairing. -_-;; A very bizarre pairing. So bizarre that this is the only fic with this pairing. However, it is by authors I like so therefore I read it. And liked it. I still think Muraki is a crazy bastard but I liked it nonetheless. In order to protect Tatsumi from going into a bout of inescapable mental anguish on a case they are paired up on, Watari decides to pit a devil against a devil. The price: his mind, body and soul. (Eh, who knew I was a fan of dark psychological fiction? And I might as well suggest the sequel "Degrees of Separation" as well. Work in progress though. The aftermath of the first with a bit more of Tatsumi/Watari)

The Other Side of Twilight

This is a sight of a much darker Yami no Matsuei in which there is no Hisoka to stand by Tsuzuki's side. Hisoka dies a whole 3 years later than the series and ends up as a Shinigami that is passed around to anyone who needs a partner. There is a person no one talks about to the point that they close up entirely when mentioned. All this is serving to drive Hisoka up the wall, especially since it hangs over the entire department like a dark cloud.

Why haven't I recced this fic yet? I have no idea. This is the Yami no Matsuei series from the beginning except slightly skewed. Author's Summary: Since shortly before his death, Hisoka has been plagued by dreams foreshadowing events as they will come to pass in Kyoto. As he begins his new life in Meifu he must make a choice, to allow himself to love his new partner as his visions predict, or push him away in the hope that the timeline will be altered enough to avoid the destruction that awaits them both in Touda's fire. An AU series that follows the timeline of the anime with a slightly different perspective.
