I've been on an original story kick lately. This used to be down because the author wanted to publish it, but then she changed her mind. I didn't manage to catch it the first time she posted but I went to read it the second time she did. Entwined is supposed to be the first of a trilogy. The sequel to this is already finished and the third is in the making. It takes place in a technologically advanced, futurisitc world. Meet Jintesh, a gamemaker who's been hurt badly once before, who basically hates people and his life. Then out of the blue, in drops Krispin, who is as carefree and wild as Jintesh is cynical. As the gamemaker falls deeper into Krispin's world, he finds that things aren't as bright as he thought.

There's like one sex scene, and it's not even explicit. I mean, you know they're doing it but the author doesn't describe every little detail. So like it's Rated R and not NC-17. I really wish there were more fics like this. *sighs* But there aren't so I must settle for re-reading those that are. Er, yea, I'm rambling. Imagine a world in which the abnormal are shunned and studied like lab rats. They are thrown into a veritable hole to live out their life, poked and prodded at 'in the name of science' against their will. Escape is nigh impossible but when you have nothing to lose and everything to gain, trying wouldn't hurt, now would it.

This is a moderate length original story that's completed. Some might think it's cliche but I just think of it as being a light read to cheer you up or something. This fic probably doesn't have many reviews due to the fact that it was posted in one month. It seems as if the longer you wait between each chapter upload, the more reviews you get. The story truly does deserve more.
Author's Summary: An English assignment becomes much stranger as five teenagers find themselves at the centre of the murder story they chose to review. Trying to stop the killer, they find things aren't so black and white.

I used to love vampire stories, then grew out of it to dive into fantasy. This story makes me want to go back to those stories again. The characters are colorful and the writing leaves you wanting for more. It's not a particularly dark story, unlike most vampire novels but it isn't all light and sunshine either. Blah. I seriously suck at this reviewing business so read and find out for yourself. This takes place in a post-apocalyptic future world where there are vampires, viruses and war. The sun has long ceased to shine through the thick layer of clouds and the vampires aren't the only ones hiding in the dark.

I don't know why I like this. The writing's good so no need to worry about that. I don't think I recommend any fics that are particularly bad. It was written for the Original Fic Ficathon, which stopped sometime in May 2004. A future fic, though not for long. Rowan is sent to answer a routine security call in the research department. Now he has to chase down a wanted criminal who has gone into the past.

To me, this story was like a mindfuck and a half. The fact that she described it as "Alice in Wonderland" meets Poppy Z. Brite is evidence enough. I'm not a big fan of Poppy Z. Brite, her books being a bit too dark for my tastes despite reading them from cover to cover. It's a bit Matrix-y but not really. No red/blue pills taken during the duration of the fic. Leon is shown that there is no line between reality and the impossible. With this new revelation in hand, will he be able to retain his sanity?

If you want a light read, this would be the story for you. I enjoyed it though parts of it I found to be a bit inevitable. The pairings and 'future special person' are obvious but that may just be me since I'm good at guessing. This is a fantasy fic with a splash of angst, adventure, action and romance. The Royal family has always been blessed by the Dragons of Three Storms but at a price. The youngest prince, Nankyokukai, takes a journey with his secretary, Takara, to continue the blessing with an offering to the Dragon the captain and the owner of the ship are unware of.

Another cute short story from Amaretto. XD I like her short stories. For 21 years, Bran has loyally remained in service of his King despite seeing so much death. When his squire, barely a young man, is killed, he decides that enough is enough. However, the King still requires his services and when news of a dragon 2 days away from the kingdom arrives, Bran seizes the chance to gain his freedom--through death.
