I can't possibly fangirl over this story enough. Escaflowne fanfictions are rare considering that it was never all that popular to begin with. And generally you can't find a good fic of this particular pairing. Unfortunately, this hasn't been updated in a while. This fic occurs after the end of the series. Hitomi has gone back to the Mystic Moon and Fanelia is in the process of being rebuilt. Allen, Serena's brother, is overprotective of his sister. However, the more he tried to cage her, the more restless she became. She manages to sneak away from her watchers and meets Van. From there, feelings start to develop between the king of Fanelia and the girl who was once his enemy.

One of the best Hikaru no Go stories you could possibly read. Aishuu updates very slowly but it is very much worth the wait.

An AU-ish HnG story that splits off somewhere around Volume 11 of the manga. I like the characterizations of Hikaru and Akira in this. More Hikago fics need to be written in this way. So many authors take the characters and ignore the Go part of their relationship despite the game revolving so much around their lives. Bleh. At his father's urging, Akira goes to visit Shindo to relieve his unfocused mind. Thatcher also wrote a sequel to this called That Which Watches from the Shadows that I like just as much. ^_^

XD;; Yes, I'm well aware it's an incestual pairing but I like it! So nyah. If you don't, just don't click. There are quite a few Sess/Inu fics floating around the net but I haven't really found any that are particularly well-written except this one. ¬_¬ Which is quite sad considering that practically every single Sess/Inu fic has mpreg in it. There's no weepy, wimpy Inuyasha in this. Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru are drawn together time and again with no logical reasoning behind their baser animal instincts. However, this time, it seems that their meetings have resulted in something rather unexpected. [note: 2/18/06 - It hasn't been updated in awhile and I'm not sure if it will in the future.]

I don't know how correct the label of 'gen' can be for a PsoH fic. XD Leon and D are not a couple and the interaction between them is no less gayer than the anime. So like yea. This story reads like an actual episode of PsoH. Even has a 'D' name! A well-meaning shopkeeper in Chinatown warns Leon away from the petshop, citing that the son of an old powerful family had his eyes set on courting Count D and did not appreciate Orcot visiting him. D gets word of this and takes measures to correct it. It is stupid to mess with Leon but it is suicidal to mess with Count D.

One of the most difficult things to find is a good PsoH fic that's of a decent length. It's not a particularly big fandom so most of the fics around are short one-shots and often times possess rather OOC characters. This takes place after the last volume of the manga. Count D regrets pushing Leon off the ship and makes a spontaneous decision. He jumps off and sacrifices his immortality to go back to Earth. Unfortunately, mortal doesn't seem to be the only thing he's become. Count D is now human.

If only more Saiyuki fics were written as well as this, I would be more into the fandom. This is written the way you would expect a standard Saiyuki episode would be written. There aren't any real pairings and nothing more than the suggestive relationship that can be seen in anything of this series. And you gotta love the fight scenes in this! Seventeen chapters so far and I've been caught hook, line and sinker. Sanzo-ikkou have been reincarnated into modern times and must finish what they started more than a thousand years before because Fate is a bitch and too lazy to find other people to torture.

In which Hao had taken his brother with him after they were born, only to lose him several years later. XD;; I can't believe I'm reading Slam Dunk. XD;; It all started with a doujinshi then became a full-blown obsession where I proceeded to d/l all available scanlated vol of the series and plan to buy the last 4 that haven't been scanlated because it leaves off in a cliffhanger-y place. XD;; Uh, yea. I find that I have to be very picky with this fandom. Mostly because some tend to feminize and get all OOC. I mean, Rukawa is not talkative and probably not very inclined with romantic stuff. And I don't believe Hanagata would appreciate the chocolate and flowers type of thing because then he'll think that Rukawa is insulting him by calling him a girl. *takes a breath* So yea.
Takes place at the end of the series. Hanagata is back from therapy and Ayako notices that there's something wrong; it seems as if the redhead has lost his drive for playing since Rukawa left for the All-Japan team.

With so many people doing 30_kisses, it's easy to find stories of rare pairings because all the popular ones have already been taken so therefore you have to do a rarepair or obscure series to get something you like. I'm glad someone took up the Mizuno/Kaza pairing. XD The fandom is virtually empty and I don't really understand why. Is it because it was so short? 39 episodes isn't that bad. This is a short but nice fic that captures the characters nicely. Shou is a lovable character, you can't hate him. You really can't. His 'never give up' determination is inspiring for a kid like him. XD Kazamatsuri is a little worried about Mizuno.

We all know that Asami and Akihito have some fucked up power relationship going on between them and the line of consent is so thin a breath would be all it take to break it. Thus, the ability to capture the mood and 'feeling' of a Viewfinder manga chapter without making anyone OOC is probably pretty commendable. Not much plot, but Viewfinder doesn't have one so it fits perfectly! Asami being just slightly altruistic.
